TERM 1 PROJECTS

House Passerini - Alterations and additions to facade and exterior (Nov2011 - Dec2011):

So our company have been designing & working on a few projects for the Italian Passerini's who owns Humpty Dumpty eggs. We are currently busy with developement on their farm and factory but end of last year when I started working again at the office they bought a new site with an old Cape dutch style house on the corner of Malan and Bain Street in Wellington. They want to rent it out so we needed to fix the facade up abit. Adding pergolas, a new stoep, new windows and doors. I had to go measure up the outside roof heights and exterior features and then draw it out.

Buffelsfontuin - Conference Building (Dec2011 - Jan 2012):

Back in 2009 we were asked to do some concepts for housing, a conference building and a open wedding place for a wild nature reserve farm close to Yzterfontuin. We did all the concepts and all projects were set on hold until the end of 2011. Finally the owner decided to continue with the Conference building. The building will be a steel frame structure with Natural rock cladding from the farm itself. I can’t wait to continue with the other concepts.

NG Kerk Malmesbury - Alterations to stage and adding of flower box (March 2012):

The one day my boss just gave me two half drawn plans that’s measured up in foot. I first had to redraw the as-build plans from the plans. In 2008 we did the “Ned Geref Kerk” in Paarl where we changed the front stage. We raised the level by a few 100mm and added a detailed flower box in front with two sets of stairs and a ramp on the side. The same concept was to be used for this church although this church is a bit smaller than the previous one. I had the opportunity to design the layout and to get a solution for the ramp.

Goede Hoop Slaghuis Paarl - Alterations and Additions (Jan2012 - March 2012):

The owner from Goede hoop slaghuis is good friends with my boss so he asked us to do some big changes to his store. This is a very old bulding with a lower, ground and first floor. Currently the lower floor is used for storage, the ground floor for sales and production and the top floor is rented out. For phase one we lower the lower floor with approxmiatly 800mm and added two concrete slabs for the both the ground and top level.
