First of all I apologise for typing this in English.
Fortunately Afrikaans speaking people are clever enough to understand English
and the majority of the world and South Africans cannot understand Afrikaans.
I am a farmer even though I do not own a tractor or a farm.
My future of farming died when my parents was murdered 16 years ago on our
family farm. Therefor I am a farmer by blood and I will never see myself
otherwise.
We as farmers want the world to see and help us against farm
murders? We want to wear black to make a point that we stand together against
farm murders and genocide in the hopes that someone hear our plea?
Every country has its own problems. America worries about
North Korea and other than that they have so many problems. European countries
worry about terrorism and mall bombings. Why would they care what happens to a
country called South Africa. On second thought. What can they even do?
The point is we should stop calling “someone outside”. Everyone
says. “Iemand moet ons sien en ons help.” Wie is daardie iemand?
To whom do we turn to? Our government will most likely stand
behind the killing of farmers than to emphasize the situation. As long as their
pockets are filled they will never bother to step in or do anything and even if
they did I doubt they’ll even have a solution to this.
So what do we do? We get together and form a military group
to do the same? Kill the murderers who killed the farmers? Kill the people we
assume may kill a farmer? It won’t work. Revenge won’t be a solution to
anything. It will only be a catalyst to the wheel of apartheid, hatred and
murders and end up causing more heartache destruction and cycles of revenge.
We can try to defend ourselves in our own homes but
unfortunately if you shoot someone in your own house you will most likely go to
jail. Whether the guy had intentions to murder, rape or abuse, the law will
protect that guy before the victim and most likely the victim will end up in
jail.
The people responsible for these murders are broken people.
Some do it for money which does not justify their actions
but you can pick this up by the way they kill the victims. The real problem, who’s
the psychopath sitting behind the payment?
Others do it out of hatred and racism towards whites. The
typical “kill the boer” mentality. You can categorize them with Psychopaths. To
brutally kill someone for fun is not normal, it is psychopathic. These people will
kill or hurt the most fragile person in the most brutal way their messed up
minds can think of. They don’t feel compassion or sympathy. Sadly our country
is filled with psychopaths. In fact the world is filled with them. They rape,
abuse, kill, torture people. Whether it is children, women or elderly people it
is also farmers, farm-workers and people in general.
Whether it is racism, hatred or psychopathic it does not
matter it should be dealt with. A military group won’t be able to control these
people because we cannot identify them beforehand and how do you deal with them
once they’re caught? You skin them alive? It won’t bring anyone back. They will
go to jail and the ones who had the intention to kill but did not pull the
trigger will be out on parole in the next two years after the incident.
Who sits behind this psychopathic mentality? Unfortunately
whether you want to sound biblical or not it is Satan himself. He is exploiting
broken people and their situations to become vessels of destruction and
heartache.
How do we deal with this?
First of all we should stand together and unify. South
Africans struggle to do that. We speak nine official languages and we all hate
each other because our ancestors ruined the future of this country by their
stupidity and recklessness. We should unite and pray because there is only one
person we should call for help and that is God.
No man alone can deal with a corrupt government. No man
alone can deal with individual cults or groups or predict the future to know
which people will kill tomorrow.
We must turn to God. South Africa, in the last few years,
has been a God forsaken country. God always provide for us but we ignore him.
The drought brought us slightly closer to Him thanks to the united prayer for
rain but after a while we took it for granted again and now we depend on our
government to come up with a solution for drought?
I say we need to unite. Wear black to show we unite. Take
your tractor and Block the N1 if you must so that people can see and know they
should pray. Americans, Europeans and everyone internationally please help us
to pray for this situation. Put hands together and ask God to change the
mentality of people. To manifest in broken people’s lives. To plant seeds in a
corrupt government and rip gang violence from the planet. Lay these problems in
front of Gods’ feet because He is the only answer. Jesus said in Psalm 121:
“ I lift
up my eyes to the mountains - where does my help come from? My help comes from
the Lord, the
Maker of heaven and earth.”
How do I
know God is the answer?
I am not preaching because I am pretty sure I should be the
last person to preach. I don’t know my Bible well. I’ve been lacking to build
my relationship with God for years. I’ve fell and try to get up and keep my
eyes on Him but honestly today I feel further from Him than I did when I was
nine years old. The headlines and daily news of murders, farm murders and
racism in particular open up scars that easily let in hatred. I feel depressed,
alone, and sometimes in total darkness when I slide. Time does not heal all
wounds. In fact the older I get the harder it becomes because you know your
parents will never witness key moments in your life.
However, when I try to aim that hatred at the individuals
who killed my parents I cannot find anything. The day they killed my parents I
forgave them and I did not do it from within myself. It must’ve been
supernatural because I cannot fathom the idea of forgiving someone who just
murdered your family for no reason. I keep an old article close as my personal
testimony to remind me of what God is capable of.
For this reason I know God is the answer to this and every
problem. We must stand together and pray and ask Him to step in. Go out of your
comfort zone and join hands for Jesus said in Matthew 18:20,
“For where two
or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of
them.”
There
is power in unity!
The article I based my testimony on
